Oddplastics.com, BIWEEKYLY 1
Hey! This is my first post in what will become a fortnightly occurrence from me (Field Skjellerup). I will be showcasing my favourite electronic tracks from around the internet. For this post I have chosen a selection of some recently discovered tracks and others that have been on heavy repeat. I also run my already established blog oddplastics.com where I showcase electronic music producers in more detail.
Kingdom – ‘Bank Head’ (feat. Kelela)
Kingdom is an artist who continuously creates intriguing and forward thinking club music, this track is no exception. Dub’d his new version of R&B “Bank Head” is an almost undeveloped track that still manages to create a mass amount of build. Other releases to check out include the track ‘Take Me’ featuring vocals from Naomi Allen and his remix of Ciara’s ‘Goodies’.
James Ferraro – ‘Blood Flow’
On this track Ferraro takes the extremities of southern hip-hop fused dance music and blends them with his own reverberant vocals, creating a stunning work that deserves many listens over. Other releases to check out include tracks ‘Sentinel’, ‘Rata’ (both off the Cold mixture) and his previously released album Far Side Virtual.
Spring Mixtape for Bromance – ‘KAYTRANADA’
This Canadian Producer and Dj provides a special offering of House, Disco and R&b classics, in the form of a sensual forty minute mix. Even with the seasons being a bit off! Other releases to check out include his remixes of Janet Jackson’s ‘What It’s Gonna Be?’ Teedra Moses ‘Be Your Girl’ and his mix for the Boiler Room.
Totems – ‘III: Sidpa’
Third track to his latest release ‘III – Sidpa‘, is a ecstatic and pumping song created through local producer totems own blend of spatial ambience, twisted southern Hip-Hop and various bass music influences. Other tracks to check out include ‘I-Chikhai’ (also of his latest Ep Bardo Thodol ), ‘Bunnys‘ and ‘Overcast‘ featuring Vocalist Foxtrot (another local talent).
